AVs, AI, and Automation - ALL at Curbivore in LA This Week 🤖🚘☀️
1,000 High Caliber Attendees, 12+ insightful panels, workshops and firesides, 35+ World-Class Speakers, Amazing FREE Street Food, Great Weather & Good Vibes!
My annual Curbivore conference is coming up this Friday April 11th in Los Angeles and I wanted to share a preview of the event and why you won’t want to miss it! AVs, Automation and AI are all big themes of the conference this year and we’ve got a great lineup of speakers, partners and announcements that I know TDD readers will enjoy.
This is our 5th year hosting the conference and the venue is one of a kind! All of our panels and fireside chats are in a neat indoor venue, and right next door is our exhibitor lot which is an open air venue full of booths, vehicles (ranging from e-bikes and delivery bots, to cars and box trucks), and a ton of awesome local (+free!) cuisine and beverages. The weather is also shaping up to be great this week and it should be 80 degrees and sunny on Friday!
Check out the highlights video here to get a sense of what to expect.
Curbivore is a good fit for anyone interested in new mobility (including AVs), last mile delivery, restaurant and retail, and public policy. What’s unique about the event though is that it brings together a number of different stakeholders to talk about issues and opportunities across different verticals.
This year feels especially exciting — and timely — with automation, AI, and AVs taking center stage across the event. We’ve got major players like Uber, DoorDash, Zoox, Avride and Waymo joining us, and the speaker lineup is stacked with leaders from both the public and private sectors.
I think TDD readers will especially appreciate the AV-focused panels we’ve got in store. One that I’m looking forward to is a fireside chat titled “Uber’s Vision for the Future of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery” between myself and Richard Willder, Uber’s Global Head of Regulatory Policy, and Sergei Kirillov, CCO at Avride. We’ll talk through Uber’s approach to partnerships with 14 different (and counting) AV players and also talk about how they plan to blend their network of self-driving and human driven vehicles.
Another piece of programming with a lot of buzz is our “Electric, Autonomous & Shared: Meet the Fleets of the Future” panel, featuring Ron Thaniel from Zoox and Will Graylin, CEO of indiGO Tech, among others. Expect some real talk on what Zoox has learned from early AV testing and what policy changes are driving the adoption of robotaxis.
And the final can’t-miss conversation will be with Stanley Tang, DoorDash Co-Founder & Head of DoorDash Labs, Zach Rash, CEO of Coco Robotics, and Adam Woodworth, CEO of Wing. They’ll be discussing how DoorDash is investing in the future of logistics, leveraging autonomy, the gig economy, and technology to create a more efficient and sustainable ecosystem.
You can find a full list of the programming here.
And of course, no event of mine would be complete without a few great parties. We’ll have an opening night reception on Thursday 4/10 at a cool local venue (part bar/restaurant/motorcycle shop/barber/tattoo parlor!). Then, following the conclusion of the event on Friday, we’ll have an on-site cocktail hour with live Jazz music and then head across the street to a private venue for our Exclusive After Party with light bites and drinks. It should be a great time!
TDD readers can still grab 50% off tickets while they last (we have 10 tickets left at this price). (PS: Public sector folks get in free!)
Looking forward to seeing you out there — and if you spot me, come say hi :)
